Storyboard Text

  • The main problem that caused the war to start was slavery, and the fact that different states in north America were divided. What caused the states to divide, was the fact of slavery; therefore, slavery was allowed in some states and not allowed in other states.
  • The states were divided by slavery, where slavery was allowed in Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Kentucky and Missouri were called Border States, and, where slavery was not allowed in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
  • Abraham Lincoln, who became as supporter of the early republican party helped them by recruiting more people to supports its cause. 
  • The democratic party was shaken when new events happened in the Kansas Territory. Northerns persuaded others to migrate to Kansas Territory where they could support free slavery. A battle started when the south crossed the state lines and killed numerous civilians in the Kansas Territory.
  • John Brown and his sons hacked to death the south that had taken over the Kansas Territory. John Brown and his sons happen to be pro slavery farmers with swords.  At the end, more than 50 civilians died in the Kansas Territory. 
  • in 1860, Abraham Lincoln eventually became president of the United States of America where slavery became illegal.
