The first step of mummification is wearing the jackal mask as you are required to dress up like god Anubis. Learn the prayers and magic spells from the Book of the Dead as you will have to chant the prayers whilst mummifying.
2. Wash the body with water or palm wine.
5. Cover the organs with with natron to absorb the moisture from the body. Rub the dried organs with oils and resin, then wrap the organs with linen bandages. The put each organ in the right canopic jar.
3. After washing the body, use a hook to pull out the brains from the left nostril.
4. You will have to cut open the left side of the stomach to remove the liver, lungs, intestines and stomach. Be careful not to remove the heart because that is where the personality is.
6. Now cover the body with Natron for 40 days for the body to dry out. Then rub on the dried skin with palm oils and ointments. Afterwards, pack the stomach cavity with perfumed linen and sew the wound.
7. Place an enchanted charm and a scarab over the heart. Then wrap the body with linen bandages dipped in gum. Wrap every part separately. You will need about 370 square metres of linen. Wrap the amulets and charms with bandages. This is for the person in the journey to the Kingdom of Osiris.
10. The last step is telling the relatives that the person has been mummified and is ready for burial. The chief priest will need to accompany the funeral procession because it is enchanting spells. The person's soul needs to talk in the afterlife. Remember, professional mourners will be noisy.
8. Place a mask from linen and glue over the person's head and shoulders. Optional: Paint or cover in a golden leaf. Afterwards, place a panel across the top of the body, decorated with protective magic symbols and drawings.
9. Now put the mummy in a body shaped coffin that has been decorated with jewels, paintings and inscriptions of spells. Paint the coffin so it looks a bit like the person when he or she was alive.
