- In 1825, conflicts between Haden Edwards and Tejano settlers start to arise. Fights and arguments begin to breakout, and Mexican officials are aware. Later, Mexican officials cancel Edward's land grant.

- In 1825, Ben Edwardsand Norris both are running for mayor of Nacogdoches. Ben Edwards was elected mayor by Haden Edwards.

- After many Tejanos complained to the Mexican authorities, votes were recounted and Norris was elected the new mayor of Nacogdoches.
- In 1826, many Edward supporters and Ben Edwards declared their colony independent from Mexico and made an alliance with Richard Fields, a Cherokee chief. Later in time, Norris (mayor at the time) was arrested. Haden Edwards was also arrested, but he was only arrested to make him look innocent.
- The Fredonian Rebellion ask for the help of Stephen F. Austin, but SFA refused to help. SFA later helps the Mexican government instead.
- The Fredonian Rebellion and the Mexican Army fight with the Mexican Government. The Mexican Government puts down the Fredonian Rebellion and the Mexican army.
