- Good! Today in business class we did our short answer test prep.
- Hi Drew! How was school?
- The first question is Explain how a discharge and a layoff are similar. How are they different? The answer is A discharge ends employment due to inappropriate work behavior whereas a layoff is a temporary or permanent reduction in the number of employees due to changing conditions. A layoff is not caused by inappropriate work behavior by the employee who is terminated.
- Tell me the definitions that you learned!
- When businesses expand because consumers buy more goods and services, new jobs are created to meet the growing demand. When interest rates increase, demand for goods and services decreases which cause jobs to be eliminated or the number of workers to be reduced.
