- Three days later, Old Major passed away peacefully, leaving the pigs,espically Snowball and Napeolon to take charge of initiating the rebellion.
- The rebellion started sooner than they thought. One day the farmhands neglected the animals, so they broke into the storage shed and ate all of the food. Mr. Jones and the farmhands began to beat the animls with whips.
- The animals were tired of being treated poorly, so they chased Mr. Jones and the rest of the people on the farm away. They were finally free from the oppression of man.
- The next day, Snowball and Napoleon explained how they had taught themselves to read and write. They then wrote up the Seven Commandments from what Old Major had said in his speech.

- Through all of the excitement, the animals forgot about the neglect they had just been subject to until the cows began to moo because they needed milked.
- Afterwards, Snowball leads the animals out to the field to begin the harvest. When they returned from the fields, the milk had mysteriously disappeared.
