- Soil erosion is quite high in the state of Telangana, with about 26 percent of crop land degraded in 2011-13. The area is highly vulnerable to drought. Therefore farmers here adopt many practices to try and conserve soil.
- The method which you are currently seeing is counter ploughing method. It helps to minimize the effect of soil erosion.

- This is a drainage ditch. It is a depression in the land created to channel water. Drainage ditches are typically formed around low-lying areas, roadsides, or fields proximate to a water body or created to channel water from a more distant water source for the purpose of plant irrigation.
- This method is soil bund. a structural measure with an embankment of soil or stones, constructed along the contour and stabilized with vegetative measures, such as grass and fodder trees.

- Silt can also be referred to as eroded soil deposited in the tanks and lakes of the villages and in delta areas. It is mainly applied to improve soil and moisture conservation, enhancement of water holding capacity as well as increase the aeration, porosity and nutrient status of the soil for a good crop growth.
