- Claimant's carer was permitted to calm him down and asked the police officers to remove the handcuffs and leg restraints.
- Why did you guys use handcuffs and leg restraints?! I believe he's traumatised now.

He brought proceedings against the defendant claiming damages for assault and battery, false imprisonment, unlawful disability discrimination under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (the 1995 Act), alleged breaches of arts 3, 5 and/or 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights and for declaratory relief.

- The Claimant has established his claim under trespass to the person, for assault and battery and false imprisonment, under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and under the Human Rights Act 1998. He is entitled to recover £28,250 damages and to declaratory relief.
