Storyboard Text

  • The three phases in interphase are G(rowth)1, S, and G2. Just like their names G1+2 tell the cell to grow in preparation to splitting into 2 new twin cells. The S phase is arguable the most important phase because its when the cell copy the chromosomes duplicate their DNA. After the interphase the cell has to go through Mitosis.

  • In mitosis there are 4 stages + cytokinesis. The stages make up the acronym PMAT. which stands for Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. For now were just gonna focus on the first 2. Prophase: is when everything in a cell is still intact and the chromosomes begin to condense. this is just a preparation phase for what is about to happen. Metaphase: in this stage, the chromosomes begin to line up in the middle awaiting their split and there is no longer a nucleus.
  • Now these new cells will go help heal the cut that our stupid human made, and I have to manage with double the cells . It's ok though because we need to be able to grow and heal
  • After the Metaphase comes the Anaphase: in this step the chromosomes move away from their other half towards the poles of the cell Then comes the Telophase: the telophase is the part of this process when nuclei begin to form on both polar ends beginning to form their new cells. And finally what our person has been bleeding and waiting for is Cytokinesis: this is when the cytoplasm around the nuclei actual splits to make the two identical cells.
