Most of the people involved and took leadership in the political changes in the September of 1792 were Jacobins. This is when Jacobins gradually took over politics. His supporters built republic of virtues in order to wipe out the past and create new constitutions. Jacobins were radical revolutionaries that aimed for the monarchy to fall in decay. Later, these Jacobins will be holding power.

Robespierre a leader among the Jacobins- a radical revolutionary group and a principal figure. He had started to rise with power from the early months of 1793A dictatorship started to rise. In 1793, Robespierre became leader of the committee of public safety. He virtually became a dictator. Since the committee’s aim was to prevent rebellion, Robespierre executed many people reigning the country with terror. The dictatorship was put to an end. Robespierre was overthrown and executed. Arrested by the national assembly. People were against Robespierre's brutal policy also known as the reign of terror. This was also coincidentally when invasions from foreign countries had calmed. This formed to his execution.
Nearby countries of France such as Austria and Prussia feared the ideas of revolution to spread into their own country and hence, there was tension. France decided to attack first and especially the Girondins believed the idea of revolution had to spread through Europe in order for it to be successful. The continuous warfare for years between France and countries such as Austria and Prussia is known as the French revolutionary wars. One man was gaining popularity for his ingenious military achievements and contributions to territorial objectives: Napoleon.
