- The lord had said to Abram, Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you;I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;I will make your name great, and you will be blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
- Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore him.
- Isaac grows up and has twins with his wife Rebekah, Jacob and Esau.
- Jacob and Esau grow up and Esau is promised a blessing, however, Jacob takes advantage of his father Isaac being blind and steals the blessing.Then his father Isaac said to him, Come here, my son, and kiss me.
