  • Pioneer women moved because they were determined to take civilization with them. Many had husbands or families and others wished to find that there.They also wished to earn status and respect while maintaining their everyday lives.The available land and wide variety of new opportunities in the freed-up space were also a huge benefit and reason for the women, who wanted to, to move.
  • I wish there was something to eat other than bacon and bread.
  • Many of these pioneer women died from things like diseases and drowning before they even got there or lost their familyThey were also very endangered by accidents and limited things like wagon space and the same meals daily.Pioneer women also witnessed buffalo stampedes and prairie fires and had low spirits.
  • So many people died. We've all seen so many things, I'm tired of this trail.
  • Women established schools, churches, literary societies, and libraries.These women that made it also taught English reading and writing to kids and the children of local Indian women.In addition to that, their work led to women gaining the right to vote, starting at the time with only four states giving them the right.
