- charlie is upset at himself because miss kinnian is crying. miss kinnian cries because he is regressing. he doesn't understand
- person vs nature
- ouch!
- charlie is against society because they make fun of him. they want him to dance with a girl so he can embarrasshimself. he is upset.
- person vs technology
- this surgery will make him the smartest man alive!
- charlie doesn't understand the rorschach test. he is upset with the guy giving him the test because he doesn't understand. charlie just sees blots of ink
- person vs person
- he really pulled a charlie gordon!
- charlie is very surprised. algernon finally bit him, he doesn't understand why. he starts to realize that algernon is regressing.
- charlie is getting brain surgery. he doesn't know yet but this surgery will cause him to suffer. if he hadn't gotten the surgery he would have a good life.
- frank and joe are making fun of charlie. charlie thinks that they're his friends. charlie doesn't know what they mean.
