Storyboard Text
- The chapter/section starts with Lennie alone in the barn, stroking his dead puppy. He talks to himself, and asks why the little puppy had to die. He also starts thinking of an excuse as to why his new puppy is dead and attempts to hide him in hay.
- Then, Curley's wife comes in and has a short conversation with Lennie about the dog and helps cheer him up. She then starts talking about how lonely she is and how she doesnt like her life. After that conversation, they start talking about soft things, and how Lennie loves petting and touching them. So she lets him touch her soft hair.
- As Lennie strokes her hair, Curley's wife begins to notice how tight Lennie is holding on, which frightens her. Since she is frightened, she starts screaming, which makes Lennie panic. He put his hand over her mouth and gripped on to her tightly while shaking her and telling her to be quiet. After a little, she goes limp and dies.
- Lennie escapes to the Brush where George once told him to go to if they get in serious trouble again. After Lennie was gone, Candy comes into the barn and finds Curley's wife dead. He gets really mad, cause he knows now that their dream about finding a home and living a good life on a ranch isn't very reachable anymore. He then goes and tells George about it, and they make a plan that makes sure to ensure that George wasn't in on it..
- Candy tells all the guys to come into the barn, and all of them are appalled. Curley is furious, and automatically knows who did it. He tells one of the guys to get his luger, but its missing, so he uses crook's gun instead, so he can go find and kill Lennie.
- Curley gathers a bunch of guys, and some dogs to look for Lennie. He tells the guys to shoot for his guts and kill him if they see him. George has already left to go try to find Lennie before they do and before they kill him
