Bah! They'll turn up. Best leave, though, if I were you. Farming season's comin' up and you'll just be in the way.
I was told there were some missing people from this town.
Rising Action
I wonder why the townspeople are acting so strange...
The protagonist, Henry Farsworth, a graduated detective, is going to a town with recent disappearances. He has been told as well that the townsfolk are oddly not worried.
Rising Action
Henry talks to the farmers, but he learns nothing from them. They seem not to know a lot about the situation and also aren't very distraught.
Climax
Henry is confused about the apparent lack of worry exhibited by the townsfolk, so he decides to investigate the town.
Falling Action & Resolution
After finding that there seems to be no one in the town, Henry investigates an old barn, from which he had heard sounds. As he comes closer, he hears a crashing sound from the barn but still ventures forwards.
In a surprising discovery, Henry finds that most of the members of the village were part of what looks like a cult. He also sees that something has broken out of the barn, with tracks leading from the center of the room.
In a daring act of heroism, Henry kills the beast summoned by the insane farmers and saves the day. Afterwards, he returns to his office in the city of Melbis, ready for any more strange and puzzling mysteries.
