- "I should teach him a lesson, but I won't unless he tries me!" Ghost thinks angrily , ready to wrangle Brandon.
- "Hey Jerk! Here you go, eat that chicken!" Brandon barks churlishly as he throws the chicken at Ghost while laughing.
- "Hey! Why are you giving me a drum stick that's half eaten?" Ghost states in a composed tone as he continued to mind his own business.
- "It's what I usually do, feed the poor!" Brandon shouts as he smirks.
- Brandon bullies Ghost and calls him poor, so Ghost is done with Brandon that they fought.
- Slide: 2
- Character vs society (external)
- “Whenever I tell my teachers about how Brandon picks on me, all they do is just tell him to not do it again, like anybody will listen to that,” Ghost expressed discordantly as he sat in the principal’s office, telling the principal.
- “Well that is unacceptable in school. I’m afraid that I’m going to suspend you just for the rest of the day,” the principal shook his head as he decided.
- “Everytime I defend myself, I feel like everybody would think I like to get in trouble for fun, but that’s not true,” Ghost thinks as he was sighing, listening to what the principal had to say.
- Ghost is getting suspended for defending his family since Brandon is talking about Ghost's family.

- Character vs Self (internal)
- “Getting suspended seems like the best thing that can happen but in reality it’s not the best thing,” Ghost thought as he is somber, looking out the window.
- Brandon gets picked up by the Coach since Brandon got suspended; if his mom finds out, then he won't be able to play on a track team.
