- lets find the eggs
- kolya is threw into a cell with lev at the crosses for being accused of a deserter .Lev doesn't really talk about anything about himself . Kolya tells lev that he volunteered to be a spy and tells him what his name is.page 21
- lets get out of here!
- The Colonel brings Lev and Kolya to his office to make a deal with them. In order to forgive their old crimes ,they must find a dozen eggs for his daughters' cake. For their mission they recieve a piece of paper signed by the colonel and money for the eggs
- i willl give you all my  money and library candy 
- Lev and kolya go to the haymarket to find anyone selling the eggs but can not find any where . They look around as people are selling rattion cards, meat and even library candy.  when all seems lost they run into someone that cliams to have eggs 
- lets put it of its misery 
- Kolya and Lev followed the giant man into his apartment but soon realize that he has no eggs. He had tricked them to kill them for their meat. Lev is scared but kolya knocked out the the lady and run for their lives.
- Lev and kolya are heading to a farmhouse to see a old man with chickens but realize no one is there.They look around and find a boy with a shotgun. They try to reason with the boy but won't listen to them.They offer everythingt to him but refuses so he gives the chicken to them  but stays.
- Lev and kolya discover that there is a farm nearby so they continue their quest. When they get there ,all they see is dead dogs with blood on the snow .They say that the dogs died from tank explosions
