- Ohhh I only have $1.87 I won't be able to buy Jim's gift.
- Rising Action
- I have beautiful hair I think I will sell it to be able to buy the little gift.
- Rising Action
- What beautiful hair will give you $20 for it.
- Della counts the money she has saved and discovers that she doesn't have enough money to buy a gift from Jim.
- Climax
- I don't know that with or without hair you are still you but I am confused.
- Della looks out the window and discovers that her only solution is to sell her precious hair.
- Falling Action
- And I don't know what to do either because I bought a chain for the watch you sold.
- I am confused I do not know what can be done with these combs that I brought you for your long hair and to top it off I was selling my watch.
- Della makes up her mind and sells her hair and with that money she buys Jim the perfect gift.
- Resolution
- The most important thing is love.
- Jim sees Della for the first time and is surprised that her long hair disappeared.
- Jim and Della give themselves away to discover that they both sacrificed their greatest possession to give away things that would be useless to each one.
- Both despite the disappointment realize that there is no better gift than the love of one towards the other.
