- Polonius sends his servant after Laertes to discover the actions of his son.
- Before you visit him, to make inquire Of his behavior.
- Ophelia tells her father that Hamlet has frightened her with his wild behaviour.
- To speak of horrors, As if he had been loosèd out of hell, with a look so piteous in purport
- King Claudius summons two of Hamlets school friends, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
- Draw him on to pleasures and to gather, So much as from occasion you may glean
- To give th' assay of arms, Makes vow before his uncle never more. Receives rebuke from Norway, and in fine, On Fortinbras, which he, in brief, obeys.
- King Claudius and Polonius learn that it turns out Fortinbras was going to invade Denmark, but the king of Norway ordered him to abandon this plan.
- Polonius tells the King and Queen that the reason that Hamlet is going mad is because of Hamlet's foiled love of Ophelia.
