- EXPOSITION
- CONFLICT
- RISING ACTION
- The story begins when Goodmen has today goodbye to his wife Faith. She wishes he not leave him and he could stay with her.
- CLIMAX
- Brown leaves, to begin his quest not knowing the evil that lies ahead. On his way he encounters the devil who attempts to win him over.
- FALLING ACTION
- Despite the devil's countless attempts to win Brown over it fails. All of a sudden Brown hears his beloved wife's Faith scream, and all hope is lost. Running to grab the devils staff Brown is transported to a ceremony.
- RESOLUTION
- Surrounded by a fire are familiar faces. Brown sees his community as well as family. He soon notices Faith walking among the devil. He pleads to her not to give in and to look up to the heavens. However, from that moment all becomes a blur he awakens to find himself alone and heads back to the village.
- Brown returns to the village where he sees his whole community. He is unaware of what all had happened from the night before. He questions their wickedness, as maybe it was all a dream.
- For the rest of his life, he is changed- trusting no one, especially not his wife Faith.
