- To lesson the interest towards communism, the Marshal Plan offered eco aid towards anybody. An American policy called the Truman Doctrine, was made to contain the spread of communism.
- Cuban Missile Crisis
- East Germany built a wall to ensure that no more Germans escape communism by going to West Berlin.
- Korean War
- The space race was a competition between the two cold war rivals, the soviet union and the US, to see who would be the first to achieve some sort of space flight. The Soviet union successfully launched the SPUTNIK (artificial satellite).
- Vietnam War
- The Cuban Missile Crisis was a thirteen day standoff of nuclear rivalry between the United states (John F. Kennedy) and the Soviet Union & Cuba (Nikita Khrushchev)
- The Korean War was fought between North Korea (with the support of the Soviet Union and China) and South Korea (with the support of the United Nations) with the hopes of containing communism.
- With the purpose of containing communism, the Vietnam war was a conflict that pitted North Vietnam and the Vietcong against South Vietnam and the United States.
