- Equality is different of all, he has committed a sin, to be different, he has broken the laws of his society and that is just to be different, think different. Equality calls himself as "we" or in plural form. He has been arrested because of his crimes. All people born in that society is separated of their parents and then are sent to the House of Infants until they're 5 years old, when a child turns 5 years old they're sent to the Home of Students
- Chapter 2
- The government assigned Equality to be a Street Sweeper, all boys turned 15 will be assigned to a different task for their hole lives. Equality and his friend International 4-8818 discovered a tunnel, International didn't want to enter into that tunnel (they found it working as Street Sweeper) but Equality ignores his friend objection and goes to explore, he concluded that the tunnel was built by men in the Unmentionable Times.
- Chapter 3
- Equality meets Liberty 5-300 a girl who is working in the Home of Peasants, she was working in the fields while Equality was sweeping a road near the fields, when he saw Liberty 5-300 automatically fell in love (both) and he called her the Golden One. Every time he thinks of she it remains he to the City Palace of Mating, a place where mature men and women are sent to procreate and it makes him angry.

- When Equality was 10 years old he saw how a man was burned in the great square to say the Unspeakable Word, that one word that no one men is allowed to say. He thinks that this person is the first Saint because he was in completely calm while his dead, Equality called him the Saint of the pyre.
- Equality discovered something that Government didn't know, he discovered on natural power, he discovered the electricity.
- As we know Equality has given a name to the Liberty 5-300, that name is "The Golden One" but when they meet again after many days, they talked to each other and Equality confessed her that he gave her a name in his thoughts "The Golden One" the same things had occurred to Liberty, she gave him the name of "The Unconquered"
