- One-year-old Anna is crying in his crib for his mother because he is hungry. will develop and shape his trust vs. mistrust.

- Trust vs. Mistrust
- Immediately, her motherly instincts kicks in and hangs up the phone to get to Oliver. Because Oliver's mom quickly decided to reach over to Oliver as fast as she could, he slowly calms down.

- 1 year old Oliver, has developed his learning of trust and now knows to trust adults because of his mom's decision.
- Don't worry Oliver, mommy will feed you.
- Oliver is now 2 years old, in his toddler years, and is trying to learn to master being potty trained. His mother is along side him being supportive, in case he needs help.

- Autonomy vs. Shame/Doubt
- As time progresses, Oliver is slowly getting the hang of potty training and knows what he's doing. Thanks to his mother's moral support, he feels comfortable and able to use the bathroom without having to feel ashamed.

- With the moral support from his mom, Oliver developed this stage without having to feel ashamed. Oliver now knows that he can do things on his own.
