- Before you start solving , make sure that you know the order of operation equations. You can use what is known as PEMDAS.
- Solve: (1 + 2 - (3+1) x2 ) / 4
- PEMDAS stand for : 1- P for parenthesis 2- E for Exponents 3- M for Multiplication 4- D for Division 5- A for Addition 6- S for Subtraction

- Therefore, using the order of word PEMDAS we will solve the equation. First, we solve any operations inside parenthesis . Second, we solve any exponents. Third, we solve all multiplication and division from left to right. Fourth, we solve all addition and subtraction from left to right.
- Solve: (1 + 2 - (3+1) x2 ) / 4= ( 3 - 4 x 2 ) / 4= (3 - 8 ) / 4= -5 / 4
