Mrs. G quickly gathered the students together and loaded them back on the bus to wait while she went to search the zoo for Johnny.
After walking down Hippo Highway and Alpaca Avenue, Mrs. G finally spotted Johnny at the Lion’s Den exhibit.
“Johnny!” Mrs. G said. “What are you doing?” “Why did you leave your seat buddy and the class?”“I’m sorry, Mrs. G,” Johnny replied. “I just got so excited about seeing all of the animals, and I wanted to take a closer look!”
“I’m glad you were excited, Johnny, but do you remember our most important rule? Don’t leave your seat buddy!” explained Mrs. G. “Let’s go back and join Susie and the rest of the class.”
On the bus ride home, Johnny thought about his mistake and decided to apologize to Susie.
I'm sorry, Susie!
Once they returned to class, all of the students shared with Mrs. G their favorite part of the field trip. When it was Johnny’s turn to share, he said, “My favorite part was the bus ride home with my new friend, Susie.”“One more time, class:” Mrs. G exclaimed. “We never leave our seat buddy,” the children shouted with laughter.
