- "Cellular Respiration has 3 stages; Glycolysis, Krebs Cycle, and Electron Transport. In Glycolysis glucose from the food we eat is broken down into a simple sugar," the Demon explained.Okay, so what happens in the second stage then?" asks Johnny.
- The Demon looking annoyed, sighed and said, "In the Krebs Cycle the simple sugar made during Glycolysis gets mixed up and helps create a small amount of energy.
- Suzi looked like she was ready to speak, but The Demon cut her off saying, "And before you ask, the last stage of Cellular Respiration called Electron Transport takes that small bit of energy to move hydrogen ions that have built up down a chain of electrons to create a bunch of ATP. ATP is basically a fancy way of saying energy. ""So you're basically saying is you plan to take out glucose of food and take it all for yourself so you can create all of that energy?" asked Johnny."Yes! That's what I already said. Do you kids not pay attention?" screamed The Demon.
- So Johnny and Suzi think for a while. Johnny looks at the demon and says, "Will you excuse us for a second?" "Sure, you're not going to be able to get rid of me anyway," said the demon. Johnny and Suzi both go to the basement to think of how they can get the demon gone.
- "Johnny look at this. I did some searching and a ritual came up that says it will banish a demon." says Suzi."You know I'll try anything to make sure we're rid of this demon," said Johnny. Just then the demon came down the basement stairs ready to taunt Johnny and Suzi.
- Johnny and Suzi give each other a look and start to smile. They then both begin reading the ritual out loud to banish the demon. As they start a blue swirling portal opens up and the demon starts being sucked into it. "NO!! You cannot do this to me! I am The Cellular Respiration Demon!," yells the demon. "Yeah, but we're kids with smartphones meaning we have a world of information just at our fingertips!" Suzi yelled back as the portal was closing.
