- Grandpa was angrily sitting up in bed while mom tried to feed him some soup. He was suffering from heat exhaustion, because of his long trip. Dad had told him he wasn't really sick and to let Marie feed him.
- Tomorrow , when you get home it will be time to give you the medicine bag
- After finally eating grandpa told us about his journey here. And told us how he had come because he wanted to give the medicine bag to me. I almost said aloud that i would never wear it but chose to quickly hold my tongue. But he continued to tell me now wasnt the right time.
- Cheryl had no problem bring her friends to see grandpa. While I was nervous not wanting my friends to laugh at him. Until one day after school, my friends followed me on the way home insisted on seeing him.
- I was proud of him and amazed at how respectful my friends were. After my friends left grandpa told me he would give me the medicine bag when i got home from school tomorrow.
- That night I had weird dreams of thunder and lighting on a high hill. From the distance their was a slow beat of a drum. At school it seemed as if the day would never end and when it finally did I ran home.
- Grandpa was in his room , sitting on the bed. I sat on the floor while he told me the story of the medicine bag.He told me when the bag is mine put a piece of prairie sage in it.That night mom and dad took him to the hospital. Two weeks after I put the sacred sage in the bag.
