- The slave owners gave harsh treatment of slaves.
- I really wish things weren't like this...
- I hate this treatment we receive!!!
- Haitians hearing about the French Revolution
- Did yall hear about what's happened in the French area?
- Yes1 We should do something about the way we are getting treated too.
- Haitian slaves revolt towards their owners.
- GIVE US RIGHTS! GIVE US FREEDOM!
- WE DON'T DESERVE THIS!
- WE WANT FREEDOM! WE ARE HUMAN TOO!
- TO FREEDOM!!
- The powerful white men would treat their slaves with super harsh treatment. Giving them beatings for small mistakes. Not caring about their health or anything. They were really hard on them about labor and since the treatment was so harsh life expectancy was at 21 years old for slaves.
- Hearing about the French Revolution and being led by Toussaint Louverture.
- YAY! TOUSSAINT LOUVERTURE!
- When word got around how people in French started standing up, and how they got some freedom, this inspired the slaves in Haiti to start standing up for themselves.
- Napoleon tries to make slavery come back but fails
- I AM HERE TO SAY SLAVERY IS COMING BACK!
- SInce the enslave population was much larger than the white population they were able to still communicate and practice their African customs. Using their religion to be able to discuss how to protest and make things right.
- Haiti gained independence

- After hearing about how French had abolished slavery, Louverture wanted to take hold of an revolution as well. He began getting slaves into military units and started training them to fight England, French, and Spanish.
- After Haiti had defeated England, French, and the Spanish; Napoleon tried to come back and reinstate slavery but the haitians were not having it. They defeated him and he later died due to torture.
- After the hard revolutions that was fought, on January 1, 1804 Haiti became the first free black state.
