- Often cited as a prototype to the retail game, Alien Hominid is a 2D run and gun game originally consisting of one level and two bosses. Players play as the alien and beat waves of agents

- Its classic hard retro gameplay and it being free on any Flash capable device Alien Hominid became Flash's best showcase of how it can be utilized, as well as inspiring small independent developers to create their own Flash projects and games.
- The gameplay was fluid, in addition the game was filled with great jokes and animations.

- In 2020, the year of death and destruction, it was announced that Alien Hominid is being reimagined for the modern day with 4 player co-op and new gameplay, this game will be title Alien Hominid Invasion. So it just goes to show even a semi-dead game, can still have some life in it.
- Alien Hominid quickly became a very successful online game and was later on was developed into a more fleshed out game on consoles due to the suggestions of one John Baez. There was even thoughts of making the console version 3D but alas they chose to stay true to the original flash game.
- Hidden cut from the last scene. Jake now in the middle of space with stars from the particle effect system, wearing an astronaut suit which is an image of an astronaut that has Jake's face blended into the helmet. This image moves position and rotation. 8 bit background music continues playing.
