- We have to operate! If we wait, the toes and perhaps the leg will have to be amputated." (Weisel 78)
- Man vs society
- "Yes, we even doubted his resolve to exterminate us." (Weisel 8)
- Whatever, doubt it!
- I think that this explains Man vs man because it is Elie coming in contact/conflict with another human.
- Man vs nature
- "Hold on! We're almost there!" "Courage! Just a few more hours!" (Weisel 92)
- This is man vs self because he is fighting back himself the sacredness he is feeling after being told this by the doctor about his foot.
- Man vs God
- "My eyes had opened and I was alone, terribly alone in a world without God, without man,". (Weisel 68)
- This is man vs society because everyone just went along with what was said. Everyone was following society.
- I think this is man vs nature because he is trying to push himself through the cold and also trying to motivate the others running next to him.
- This is man vs God because he didn't have much faith until he realized he needed God and he couldn't be mad at him.
