  • The Boston massacre occurs Eight British troops were accosted by a mob on March 5, 1770, in the city's streets. Five colonists were killed when the soldiers discharged their muskets in response to the mob's abuse and threats. After this event happened more fights occurred in Boston because colonist were still angry about past events.

  • The Tea Actthe British Parliament granted complete authority over commerce and tea supply to the East India Tea Company on May 10, 1773. The tea tax upset the American colonists. They believed the Tea Act was a gimmick to get support from the colonists for the tax that was already in place. Colonial merchants' profits were hurt by the British East India Company's agents selling tea directly to the American colonies.

  • Boston Tea PartyThe Boston Tea Party was a political demonstration that took place at Griffin's Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 16, 1773. 342 chests of tea that had been imported by the British East India Company were dumped into the harbor by American colonists who were disgruntled and outraged with Britain for enforcing taxation without representation. The demonstration was viewed as rebellion by the British authorities, who reacted violently. The incident intensified and led to the American Revolution.
