  • In this scene Macbeth decided to send people to massacre and kill Macduff's Family. After receiving the prophecies he still goes a step further to secure his title. This decision will reek further havoc on his life and earn him enemies with a drive for revenge.

  • “This disease is beyond my practise” (5.1)
  • In this scene Lady Macbeth is being observed by her attendant and a doctor because of her unusual sleepwalking habits. Lady Macbeth seems to be haunted by her actions and what she has done to end up in her position. The sleepwalking is a manifestation of the turmoil she feels daily. The Gentlewoman and Doctor both decide that she needs spiritual guidance instead of medical help.

  • In this scene Malcolm, King Duncan's son, tells his army to cut down branches from Birnam wood. This is a unknowingly a step further in completing one of the previous prophecies that threaten Macbeth's Kingship
