In this scene Macbeth decided to send people to massacre and kill Macduff's Family. After receiving the prophecies he still goes a step further to secure his title. This decision will reek further havoc on his life and earn him enemies with a drive for revenge.

In this scene Lady Macbeth is being observed by her attendant and a doctor because of her unusual sleepwalking habits. Lady Macbeth seems to be haunted by her actions and what she has done to end up in her position. The sleepwalking is a manifestation of the turmoil she feels daily. The Gentlewoman and Doctor both decide that she needs spiritual guidance instead of medical help.

In this scene Malcolm, King Duncan's son, tells his army to cut down branches from Birnam wood. This is a unknowingly a step further in completing one of the previous prophecies that threaten Macbeth's Kingship
