- Microwaves are most commonly used in satelite communications, radar signals, phones, and navigational appilications where microwaves used are medical treatments dying materials, and im households for the preparation of food
- Thermal-imaging cameras are used to detect heat loss in insulated systems. Infrared radiation is used in industrial, scientific, military, commerical, and medical applications.
- Usage of Infraded waves
- Potential applications of VLC include Wi-Fi, vehicle to communication and information displayed on signs board. The Wi-Fi uses visible light for communication to provide high speed internet up tp 10Gbits/s.
- UV radiation is widely used in industrial processes an in medical and dental practices for a variety of purposes, such as killing bacteria, creating fluorescent effects and sun tanning. Different UV wavelengths and intensities are used for different purposes.
- X-rays play an important role in the fight againts cancer cells and shrink tumuors. Patients under go treatment outside the body known as external-beam radiation theraphy from radio active material that's inserted into the body in close proximity to cancer cells.
- Gamma rays are ionizing electromagnetic radiation, obtained by the decay of an atomic nucleus. Gamma rays are more penetrating in matter, and can damage living cells to a great extent
