- Since its discovery organizations and foundations from around the world have come together to contain and combat the Hendra virus, and while they have developed a vaccine to protect horses from infection, this is far from a long-term solution.
- Due to the high cost of these vaccines, many horse owners aren't able keep up to date on their vaccinations. Leading to the continued spread of the deadly Hendra Virus.
- The struggles for those without financial stability continue, however. Many owners are unable to properly dispose of their horse's remains due to the high costs of proper sanitation and containment procedures which, if infected, could contribute to the spread of the Hendra virus.
- By exposing the true dangers of Hendra and emphasizing the importance of taking proper care and precautions with horses through an informational campaign run through organizations such as the Commonwelath Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and Thoroughbred Racehorse Owners' Association (TROA) we can persuade owners to take actions to prevent the further spread of Hendra
- With their weight and connections these organizations have, it is easy to implement this information campaign as posters and pamphlets in the offices and waiting rooms of Veterinarians, as well as increasing coverage in their online resources such as the web pages and the many social media facets of these organizations.
