- Saul's Success as a Hockey Player

- Right now, we are down a centre... Wondered if maybe you'd wanna come and playwith us?

- "By the end of that first winter, I was an essential part of the Moose"
- Saul, you are a bag of antlers... but fast
- Saul was thunderstruck by Fred Kelly's offer. The quotation reveals that Saul never believed that such an offer is possibe. Such as a planet follows a specific path, Saul believed that his path was similar to the other boys, but it isn't, representing the world slipping out of orbit and the beginning of his succsses.
- "You're free now, Saul. Free to let the game take you where it will"
- Saul's next success comes when he manages to gain approval with the rest of "The Moose". The other players were skeptical of him at first but he was successful in proving to them that he belongs on the team.
- "I looked up andeveryone was standing and when I raised my stick in appreciation they cheered even louder" (128)

- Saul's success as a hockey player is clear with the Moose as he quickly becomes their shining star and their best player. He has become integral to the Moose's gameplay and the team as a whole.
- And our secret weapon
- Saul next success comes when Father Leboutilier appears at one of Saul's games to tell him how proud of proud he is of Saul. Father Leboutilier is Saul's father-figure and making him proud is one of Saul's success as a hockey player.
- Saul finally achieved the kind of success that those around him expect of him and Saul enjoys the thrill and success the sport of hockey is giving him.
