Storyboard Text
- While all of the travelers continued on their journey, the Host asked the Pardoner to tell a story. The host wanted the Pardoner to tell a nice, happy story. The pardoner, a greedy and sly man who uses religion to make money, agrees.
- The story begins with three friends in the city of Flanders. These three friends are absolutely evil in every way. All they did was a party, drink, and gamble all night long. They all live lives of sin and vice
- One day after visiting their local pub, they are approached by a young servant who says one of their friends was murdered. The servant said he was killed by a man named Death. The three men are enraged and swear to kill this man named death. They decide to leave the town to search for Death.
- After a bit of traveling, the three friends approached an old withered man along the road. They ask him why he looks so old, and he says that death will not take him. They suspect him to be one of Death's spies and threaten to beat him up. He then points to a tree saying that is where he last saw death.
- Once the three men reached the tree the old man was talking about, they were surprised by a pile of gold at its roots. Forgetting their original goal completely, the three men decide to steal it at nightfall. They send the youngest man to retrieve food for them. But once the youngest leaves, the other two men plan to kill him and share the gold between themselves.
- The youngest man returned, and the two men killed him. They then sat down to celebrate and eat the food that the youngest brought.
