The Indian tectonic plates slip past each other because the radioactive energy produced by the earth's interior causes movement, hence plate tectonics happens. The Indian plates also had a ton of energy build up and so, an earthquake is born.
Going Strong!
KONO DIO DA!!
Ferocious and potent, an undersea earthquake caused by a ponderous tectonic plate slipped under a lighter continental plate and then caused a ripple that produced a tsunami, as the ocean floor rose to a towering height of 40 meters.
The economy is in shatters...
IT KEEPS GOING DOWNHILL!
The Tsunami, which had a magnitude of 9.1, was so strong that everyone worldwide was affected, some were impacted to a greater degree and some face lighter consequences. Of course, India suffered the most.
Recovery
After wreaking havoc in India, it rolled over the coastlines of Asian countries such as Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. Surpassing boundaries-5000 miles from its origin, it finally ended in South Africa, but caused a massive string of fatalities.
Due to the destruction caused by the tsunami, India's infrastructure hit a brick wall. Damages done to the buildings and settlements in India resulted in $9.4 Billion(41,830,000,000.00 Malaysian Ringgit) for rebuilding and India also donated $6.25B to other countries in need of aid. India had to spend huge sums of money, and that was India's GPD of the previous year.
Spending more money on aid packages, and support from countries enabled the success of recovery to reap. As countries have the budget to rebuild their damaged infrastructure, it also raised awareness about earthquakes and tsunamis.
