Shutup and help me woman
The first reason I think women played an important role in the war is they cooked for the soldiers. The women cooked so that the soldiers good could get all the nutrients and energy they needed to fight and survive. The daily meals the women cooked helped the soldiers a lot.
In the revolutionary war, another job/task women took on to help the soldiers was a nurse. The nurses helped the soldiers when they were wounded or injured from fighting or just from trying to survive, while on there journey. The nurses (im pretty sure) also helped when they were sick, or catching deadly diseases.
Another important role I think women took on (in the times of the war) was doing the soldiers laundry. The soldiers needed clean clothes and clothing period so they could be prepared for the different weather, and so they were ready to fight, and show of all of the "team's colors"
