- Email to Violet: “If that blue could stay for ever; if that hole could remain for ever; if this moment could stay for ever.… I feel myself shining in the dark.… I am arrayed. I am prepared. This is the momentary pause; the dark moment. The fiddlers have lifted their bows.… This is my calling. This is my world. All is decided and ready.… I am rooted, but I flow.… ‘Come,’ I say, ‘come.’ ”
- Violet and Finch meet when they both are on the ledge of the bell tower of school contemplating on if they should jump. Violet got startled since she did not know Finch was up there so she feel and Finch saved her.
- Falling Action
- FIIINCHH !!!
- Violet and finch were paired together for a school project. Later that night Finch pays Violet a visit and they end up starting to form a very beautiful relationship.
- Resolution
- Finch disappears for what looks like a week and no one knows where he is or how to locate him. Later o the next week, Finch sends goodbye emails to his mom, Violet and his two best friends. His mom scared to look for him asks violet if she can figure out where he has gone and what is he planning to do.
- Foreshadowing
- The cardinal was dead either way, whether he came inside or not. Maybe he knew it, and maybe that's why he decided to crash into the glass a little harder than normal that day.
- Finch's mom asks Violet to search for Finch since she does not have the courage to. Violet goes to all the places that they visited while doing the history project. She finds herself searching at the first place they ever went to on their trips..
- Violet goes to the last place that they went together, the plcae where everything went wrong. She sees his clothes on the rock she looks but doesn't see him, so she decides to jump in. She looks for hour but cant find him. She calls the police and they end up finding him deep in the water. He is dead.
- The dead cardinal symbolizes Finch. When it died, Finch said, "There was nothing to make him last a long". He quotes himself on the wall of his bedroom before he commits suicide.
