In this tale, Winson has taught me to be careful with my decisions, be logical and to not let yourself be manipulated by other's ideas, like O'Brien did to him. He made me more cautious about how people use their language to manipulate or change what they say or mean.

AuthoritativeO'Brien helps the Party to gain power, just for the sake of gaining more. He shows signs of being controlling and powerful, as he brainwashes Winston and Julia into submission.
O'Brien has taught me on how you should be careful with who you trust. It made me mad, how I thought O'Brien was another exception and that there was still hope for a rebellion against the Party. He also made me realize how its so easy to manipulate someone, its just a matter of using your language the right way.
To sum it up, each character teaches you something, kind of like a warning because afterall, 1984 is a cautionary tale that warns us about how the future could be.
