  • People Want 18 Year Olds To Vote
  • Now that the Vietnam war has started, armies are recruiting 18 year olds to fight. If 18 year olds are old enough to fight in a war, they should be old enough to vote!
  • America decided to fight in the Vietnam War. This was because China, a communist country, was in control of North Vietnam. • They Make More Arguments In Favor Of 18 Year Olds
  • 18-year-old are old enough to have jobs and pay taxes on their income, so why not vote?
  • America started recruiting soldiers to fight in the Vietnam war. They put up posters and wrote articles in magazines to try and recruit soldiers. They accepted anyone 18 years and in good physical condition.

  • I propose an amendment to the constitution! I want to lower the voting age!
  • Once America started recruiting 18-year-olds and older to fight in the war, people started arguing that if 18-year-olds are old enough to die for their country, they should be able to vote.
  • I Agree!
  • More arguments were made as to why 18-year-olds should be able to vote. They can get married, have to pay taxes, and can get jobs. People argued that since 18-year-olds and older can do all of those things, they should be able to vote!
  • 18-year-olds can also get married and sign contracts. If they can do that, they should be able to get married.
  • I Agree!
  • “In 1971, Senator Jennings Randolph, a Democrat of West Virginia, proposed a constitutional amendment to lower the voting age” (History.com-2021).
  • I Second!
