  • I'd love to find someone to see the world with, stopping at historic ruins, beaches, and vineyards along the way.Someone who's just as happy dancing the night away (if it's to trance music -bonus points), as they are relaxing from a heavy workweek with a little netflix binge session.Someone to laugh at silly stand up with, talk history, philosophy and our place in the universe under the stars on a summer night, and make a mess cooking in the kitchen together.
  • How Our Story Began
  • NO WAY HAHAHA 5/5?!Sorry for all the caps that just seemed so unlikely lol!
  • Things I am thankful forThe life I have built for myself. I am thankful for all the love and support I have, that has enabled me to live the life I want to live. I am thankful for the flexibility my life has, and I never want to take that for granted. I live in Calgary, but my second home is Vancouver - I am there a couple times a month.
  • ICEBREAKER:5/5
  • WOW5/5?! (we should just fall in love and get married)Hahaha every time I have done an icebreaker I rarely ever get more than 2/5... it is usually 0/0 hahaHave the stars aligned? Should we take this as a sign that we should meet in person?
  • 🤣you crack me up. Is there any acceptable type of trivia? Im usually good at firing people up, but I think i met my match 😮 we're gonna fire each other right up to the moon at this point!Hahaha are you directionally challenged?! Ok ill narrow down to a few options and send your way!
  • Hahaha I don't think a better sign will present itself! Although the guitar one is questionable, they are both guitars and I can't play an instrument to save my life..... lolAlright, now that we're getting hitched, honeymoon - Hawaii or Bali? And as for meeting up, not sure how busy your schedule is this week, but I can do either Thurs or Fri evening. You play basketball and tennis too!! HA! Kindred souls for sure.
  • I think this has to be the most accurate introduction I have ever seen! ... well done.
  • Haha!I am looking forward to Thursday. And yes! I am very bad with directions... I rely on Google maps daily!Question.. are you a night owl? Or a morning person?
  • Honeymoonin Bali for sure!! lolI like being active and enjoying playing sports... am I good at it?!? Hmmm...HAHA I am very competitive so I try VERY hard... but to be honest I am not a superstar at any sport (but I like to think I can win all the time).Let's do Thursday? It's St.Patty's day!... maybe we'll get lucky? (lol sorry bad joke!)
  • Bali it is then! Booking tickets now 😅I RESPECT YOUR FIRE!! Do you watch basketball at all? Your style reminds me of russell westbrook, going 110 percent all the time, though the skill is on and off hahaha! Looking forward to some competition 😤Is it st pattys already?! You know what, i did my ancestry dna test a few months ago and found out i have 1 percent irish in me, which naturally made it mandatory for me to celebrate st pattys. Lets get lucky (and make bad jokes together!!) . Although i need to look deep through my closet to find some green. Dress code - unexpected.Whereabouts in the city roughly are you? So we can pick a proper venue. Im downtown so anywhere is easy
  • In between? Not a fan of waking up too early but work demands it. Which results in not being able to stay up too late on weekdays :( But weekends I happily stay up till 2 or 3. You??
  • And thank you kindly, I wanted to make sure there's no mistaking who I am :)Based on yours, it sounds like you're a glass half full kind of person. Vancouver is awesome too - food and beaches only a 1 hour flight away! And based on the ice breaker seems we are both beach bums hehe
  • Yes, of course I watch basketball. haha I am not a super fan though... I don't know players names and their stats. So no sports trivia on the first date!! (or actually no sports trivia EVER! lol).I am so glad you have some sort of Irish in you! It gives us more of a reason to celebrate! You being Irish... and our soon to be honeymoon LOL this might be the best first date in history!I also live downtown. I am basically on 17th Ave on the west side? I think it's the west side?? Near 14th Street... so I guess we have many options!
  • I wanna be a night owl too with ya'll!! And I AM scared of you two now, but you know, 'conquer your fears' and all that. I'm with it. I'd be at work anyway while you guys having your daily breakdowns hahaha. How old is your little one (or not so little maybe lol)?HAHA the only thing Irish about me is my damn reddish beard which matches nothing else! 1% for real haha. I'll tell you the story of how I think the Irish got in my bloodline too in person!Hahahaha ok I'll shoulder the blame if we crash and burn. But if it goes well, I better get some props too :) Let's do Wednesday room, Imma wear a green ish dress shirt (which fits with no pants I own hmmmm)... 7pm work for you? Also am happy to pick you up, but also totally get if you're not too comfortable with that yet and prefer to meet there.

  • Awww that was cute! Look at you already melting my heart. My mini me is definitely not so little anymore... she just turned 13 on February 27th. I don't feel like I have a daughter... more like a best friend/roommate... she is so self efficient now, that it kinda makes me sad :( ....and to be honest some days I think she is more of an adult than I am hahaha. I do a lot of online shopping, and she calls me out on it every time a package arrives (sometimes I even hide it from her so she doesn't bitch at me...hahaha)PS. I love how you informed me of what you are going to wear. It makes it less stressful for me to try to figure out what I am going to wear. Is that a thing you do when you go on dates??.... because that is a brilliant idea! Less pressure on us females to figure out what to wear hahaha...I have never had anyone do that before. I have to say you do have a little game when it comes to dating.Wednesday Room it is!! 7:00 works for me. Let's see how I feel on Thursday about you picking me up... maybe I'll be adventurous and risk it. HahaWhat part of downtown are you in?
  • Soo a few choices for milady:1. James Joyce Irish Pub - amazing food if you hungry, very Irish (imagine this said with an accent), but a bit small. on 8th Ave.2. Wednesday Room - Not irish, but classy and always a good time. Will need resos but I checked they're still available.3. Jameson's on 17th - I think that's walking distance for you, reasonably Irish (accent again) and large.Open to suggestions too!
  • I was expecting some teen horror stories when you said 13, but instead it's all rainbows and butterflies (is that the saying?)?! What madness is this. Must have a pretty cool mom to grow up so mature. Hope I didn't jinx your next 5years haha.LOL I appreciate your compliments, you sure know how to make a fella feel special!! Definitely not a regular thing, but I often stress about first date outfits too it's not just you ladies hahaha. With this being a 'wear green' day I figured I'd mention it just in case. Noted for the future (although since we're getting married I won't ever need a first date strategy again ya know).Ok, let me know Thursday :) most definitely looking forward to meeting you. Resos made!East village for moi. Was going to make a direction joke, but it was too lame even for my low standard of jokes...Hey is Acie short for anything? Or like your secret agent name?
  • Hahaha well if you jinxed it.. it will also soon be your problem! (since we are getting married). LOL Thursday may be our last first date experience! We better make it a good one!I lived in East Village before I moved into this condo last year. I lived in the Evolution building, I think it was called Pulse? I loved that area.. but I definitely did not utilize the neighborhood as much as I wanted.Let's go with my secret agent name aka my online dating name?! LOL kidding, it's too unique to be my secret agent name... it's my real first name. I would love to hear how you pronounce it. Hahaha Is Alex short for Alexander?
  • I am definitely a night owl. I hate mornings... I am definitely not a morning person - neither is my daughter! lol So you can only imagine what it's like in our house in the morning... with 2 grumpy females trying to get ready for the day. Hahaha (have I scared you away yet)LOL I love how so into character you are with the whole Irish thing... I can definitely see the Irish in you. Hmmm you're making me choose?! I am good with any of those options... how about you choose! That way if the date goes horribly wrong I can at least blame it on you Hahaha
  • Also can I just say I appreciate how straight up and easy to talk to you are? I don't know if that's an Eharmony thing (new to this), or a only you thing, but coming off a year on them dating apps and the games that chicas there seem to play + being flaky, oh god talking to you is refreshing. So thanks for being cool. Unless you flake out and cancel on me thursday, then I take it all back lol
  • Shooting myself in the foot with the jinx, am I? Bah, par the course. Haha ok let's!No way, howdy former neighbor! I'm at First (and for the last 6 years since it was built! Not my wisest investment, that). Summertime is fantastic around here. But I'm sure being near 17th is awesome too?Well since you said it like that, I figure it doesn't go as expected... hmm...I shall keep my cards close to my chest until we meet about pronunciation. You drink (a light) shot if I get it right, and I do if I get it wrong??It is, but you forgot 'The Great' at the back end there, if you're already saying my full first name. Hehe. At home they go by my Russian name Sasha, but in Canada only my nephew and mom call me that hahaha.
  • That is a cool story of how you came to Canada! Me, not so much. I was born and raised in Red Deer. I moved to Calgary right after high school - I was actually only 17 years old when I moved here. Both my parents still live in Red Deer...but there is no way I would ever move back! I am definitely a big city kind of gal.ICQ?! I don't even know what that is! You are right... no matter what generation you are from, the way you are raised and the people who influence your life play a big role in a person's core values. Technology will always be evolving... but that doesn't mean it takes over how you parent your child. You would never catch my child with an ipad or tablet at a restaurant... I am all about the table crayons and coloring books. HAHA wow! That was definitely the mom in me talking. I feel old af!
  • I wonder if we have ever crossed paths?! ....I lived there for 2 years! I would walk my dogs everyday, and I would pass by your building to get to the dog park.Since you know how competitive I am... I love the fact you turned it into a bet(and that shots are involved) haha! Hmmm... okay, you get one chance to pronounce my name when we first meet. If you get it right I will take a shot. If you get it wrong... you tell me your deepest darkest secret or something that your friends don't know about you (and obviously take a shot) lol...Russian, hey?! (sorry another bad joke LOL)Is that where your family is from? Were you born in Canada?
  • PS I actually like messaging you on this site.It feels old school... like we are writing emails back and forth...except now I don't have to kick my mom off the phone, so I can connect to dial up to check if I have mail. Haha do you remember the AOL days?!
  • Ah, that place, I only know it as a pitstop on the way to Edmonton lol! Yeah I'm with you, big city is my jam too. Toronto is 100% my favourite city in Canada, but Vancouver def has its charm too. And Calgary's home so there's that. Did you move as soon as you got through high school? Had enough of Red deer at the time? You mentioned you got 2 dogs too?? What kind?!Hahaha now that I think about it I remember being told ICQ was invented in Israel, so it makes sense we used it back there. It was like a precursor to MSN Messenger I'd say.Hahaha I like and approve your parenting style! Although I might be unsure how to hold a crayon... like a pencil right? YOU NOT OLD. CUZ THEN IM OLD. Unless we're old together.... sigh. I'll call it wise with a side of occasionally cracking bones instead of old.
  • Oh my god do kids have it good these days technology wise. Which is why I am EXTRA surprised when you mentioned your kid was such a cool mature young lady, in the back of my mind I'm always worried about passing on core values to the next generation since the upbringing will be soooo different. But then again they do learn by example... We can talk more about cool things like this in person haha :) I HONESTLY CANT WAIT ALREADY!
  • Mm I don't know, it's possible but I feel like you'd be hard to forget if we did...HAHAHA I feel like that's quite a lopsided bet. My goodness, I don't even know if there's a secret my closest boys don't know. I'm a pretty unsecretive fella lol. Better pronounce it right. And if you're just playing reverse psychology with me and it's pronounced like most people think it would then... well played. Haha. Oh god WHAT ARE MY SECRETS?!LOL is that line from a show or what? Went over my head! Yah I was born in Belarus (next door to Russia), then my fam moved to Israel when I was 1 to escape the collapsed Soviet Union. Then we all moved to Calgary when I was 13,and it's been home ever since! Are you a born and raised Calgarian/Vancouverite?Dial up!! Yes I remember this. Although it was ICQ that I used at the time, not AOL, them AOL kids were whack! (jk heh heh)
  • Eharmony I only just joined, I do have a bunch of unread openers in inbox, I don't want to commit to a conversation unless I know I got the time for it haha, so you are the only one I actually talked to on this site. Still have my Hinge account active so some convos on there, but (no lie) this one with you is the most enjoyable one, the one where I'm legit looking at my email for notifications 'DID SHE ANSWER YET?!' hahahaha so lame. I'm glad we both stood out to each other. LOTTERY WINNERS OUT HERE, MAKE WAY WE BOUT TO BUY A YACHT OR AN ISLANDOR SOMETHING! (or finally find the cool partner our soul's been looking for hehe). And yeah so I've met some chicas from Hinge in the past, but not eharmony yet, like I said you're the first conversation I committed to on this site haha. Can't promise I won't ruin it for you lol but I'll do my best!!!
  • I've only been to the 6 once for Ovo Fest. I definitely need to go back and experience the city more...it's just so far! Compared to Van.. which is such a short flight, that it's easy to just pick up and leave for a few days... We will have to go to Toronto together so you can persuade me that Toronto is better than Van! Haha! I left Red Deer as soon as I graduated high school... I think I left that weekend?! Hahaha I just couldn't wait to get out of there.Yaaass... I have 2 dogs!! Jewels (Yorkie) celebrated her 7th birthday yesterday... we had a little PAWty! It was super cute haha. And then there is Jemma (Pomchi).. she just turned 2 in January. If I can't get you to fall in love with me.. I will bring out the big guns (Jewels Jemma) and that will lure you in for sure! HAHAAhhh you are just so cute! When we started talking (I knew right away you were the one! HAHA) it was such a relief seeing that you use proper grammar and punctuation!! IT IS SUCH A TURN OFF when a grown man can't figure out when to use there, their, they're... but I have to admit I am also low key smitten, I am constantly refreshing the page to see if you've replied!! (I guess that makes me a loser too) LOL I don't think I have been this excited about a date in a VERY long time! One more sleep!!
  • How long have you been on this site? I refuse to go on a dating app (Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, etc.). So I decided to give this a try...my thoughts are that the men on here have to be half decent human beings if they are paying?! I dunno... I guess we will see. You will be the first person I have met from this site... so please don't be weird and ruin this for me HAHA! Have you met anyone in person yet?I am not sure what it's like on your end.. but do you leave messages unread and don't reply?! I am not bragging or anything... but you should see my inbox. Before we really started talking I think I was having conversations with at least 10 other people, dating could really be a full-time job! LOL... what I am trying to get at is you should feel like you won the lottery, because out of all the people I have talked to.. you definitely stood out. Now I feel bad for all the suckers who messaged me and tried real hard to continue a conversation. hahaha
  • Hey! Sorry for keeping you on read for a sec there, meant to respond but had a massive last minute work meeting that needed my full attention. So OVO fest eh? Never been there for that? Which brings me to a topic we may not be 5/5 on (THE HORROR), what's your go to music?Yaaah Van is an easy weekend trip, Toronto is a cumbersome weekend trip. For sure. Haha I'll take you to a few Raptors games, a few of their tip top ethnic restaurants (fuck Israeli food in Toronto is better than in Israel I'm not even joking hahaha), and you'll be converted in no time! Although I'd be super down for Van beach vibe trips as well :)You left THAT weekend?!! Hahahah wow wow trying to imagine how it felt mama mia.PAWty.... hahahah so damn cute you are hahaha. They sound like 'little guns' tome tbh (my turn for a bad joke!!)... It's cool you have two of them though, I always worried about leaving my dog at home if I ever got one, but in your case they got each other for company, love it!Grammar turns you on?? Hahahah this bodes well, very well indeed. YOU ARESMITTEN WITH ME?! Aw. What have I done to deserve such affection??? I'm honestly just enjoying the shit out of talking to you. Ahhhhh trying to temper my expectations, but it is not easy. Not easy at all. What makes you so invested in proper punctuation/grammar? FYI english is my third language so I take great pride in being able to write well - I actually used to write part time for a leading Toronto Raptors website with media credentials (2016-2019),and when I have time I try to write fictional short stories too, though my muse left me the last year or so :( Maybe it'll get reignited if I get some nice energy in my life (wink wink). No pressure. Haha.C.A.N.N.O.T. W.A.I.T. :)
  • OH STOP! You never have to be sorry (are you sure you aren't Canadian?! HAHA), or even have to justify the reason you left me on read! That would would be insane... as a mom and a nurse... I've realized the only constant in life is change. We as humans are incredibly resilient and adaptable. We can navigate changes with a sense of ease vs. resistance. Resistance to change usually brings suffering....(I didn't actually write that!! LOL did I impress you for a second there?!) HAHAHA I heard it on a podcast once, and it stuck with me!!Long story short... I wouldn't be mad if you came home late from work (and/or drinking with co-workers or clients). There will still be dinner ready for you lol!! Brownie points, if you come home late WITH CHOCOLATE IN HAND!! (that is not a joke. My love language is food!)Okaaaay!! Enough of that.. I don't want to seem soo vulnerable. IM A BAD BITCH!!!(I am actually laughing out loud! That was pretty clever and a good way to end the message)You made me go a tangent!! All because you SAID SORRY FOR LEAVING ME ON READ!!
  • Good morning fellow 6am-er!! Youre a group therapy addict too then f yeah!!! ALL THEFEELS!!! Hope the day goes by extra quick today and we get to the main course. I can pick you up at 6:45 if you tell me where 😉(BUT ALSO STILL COOL IF YOU WANNA MEET THERE)
  • Hahahaha you're something else. I was actually just listening to a similar mindset talk by old dead wise philosopher man alan watts.Dinner being ready for me after a long stressful day of work..... yah ill bring more than just chocolate home if ya know what im saying (but chocolate will also be brought!) for that kind of love.Hahahhaha if you can combine being bad bitch when you gotta be out there, and be the loving vulnerable hot mama at home, you've won life baby girl. Also nicely done avoiding the music question 🤣Ohhh and i also make a really solid tiramisu, in addition to stocking various choco snacks around my place, so that love of yours is guaranteed to be fulfilled 😅
  • WOW!!I am literally almost close to tears!! It's either you are really good with your words and how to express yourself... OR I am PMS-ing! (that might have been TMI but you'll soon find out I have no filter lol)I didn't purposely avoid the music question! I went on a tangent because of you!! I love music.. and I listen to a wide variety of genres, depending on my mood and/or why I am listening to music. Examples:I hate starting my day in a bad mood. So in the mornings, if either my daughter and I are grumpy/cranky... we get ready for our day with country music on blast! If I am feeling sad or blue I usually listen to RB/Soul.If I'm pissed off... hard rap would be my go to.When it's day 2 of Coachella, and I am hungover as fuck I listen to EDM/House music to pump me up to do it all over again. HAHAI love music!! (which means music festivals!) I have been to many different ones in Canada and in the States. But on my bucket list of things to do (before I get too old and stop partying) is to go to Tomorrowland!!! We were suppose to go for my 30th... but plans changed. So hopefully next year! What about you?
  • Hiii!!.... soooo I have some bad news...I forgot I have to drive my daughter to gymnastics tonight (she usually gets a ride but I forgot she is on vacation!). Her gymnastics is at 7pm. And it's by IKEA... my plan is to take her early so I can make it back by 7! ....I can meet you there so we aren't late to our reso?? OR if it's okay that we are late, you can have the privilege of picking me up (just promise me you won't be a creepy stalker! And/or a serial killer).
  • Gymnastics! Dope! I did that too till a traumatic age 11 experience :(Haha my heart sank for a minute after the first message, oof what a rollercoaster. Ok I managed to change the reso to 7:30, so we good! I will honor this pickup privilege by not committing kidnapping/stalking/murdering or any such thing. If you want I can try to move it to 8 to make things even easier for you. As it stands I'll aim to pick you up at 7:15!Or if you want to really change this up, we can do an IKEA first date hahahha
  • 🤣🤣 oh my god can i just be around you already.Thats a top notch answer right there. I appreciate the mood determining the playlist! Hahaha i guess if i come home the music playing will tell me what to expect.Country and rap i do struggle to jam to lol. R and b and soul i could roll with. Theres a live blues bar in inglewood i wanna check out actually too (is blues in that soul ballpark??)Now edm/trance/house is my mainstay. Tomorrowland is one festival thats on my bucket list too, this could really work lol! Been to EDC vegas once waaaay back when youth and me were spoken of in the same breath. Theres a place in washington state (the gorge) where my fav group (above and beyond) play it annually, thats one i been dreaming of going to more than any other tbh.And for other music i listen to israeli music a lot (😬) and hawaiian cuz that turns MY frown upside down. Reggae cool too!But yeh, im off to bed (youre prolly midway through your day?)... might just dream of you tonight. See you tomorrow!!!!
  • To be continued...
  • I freakin' LOVE IKEA's hotdogs!! Don't tempt me. HahahaThat's super cute of you to change our reso. I appreciate that! ....I am now counting down the hours until I get to meet my soulmate!! (I obviously have super high expectations for tonight LOL)Ahhhhh.... so now I guess I have to tell you where I live?!!Giving my personal info to an online stranger?! How about we start off with my phone number... and you can work your way to finding out my address... lol403-827-xxxx
  • AHHH Above Beyond?!! Absolutely love 'em. Every time I hear their music it just gives me ALL THE FEELS... something about them reminds me of my 20s and all the memories I have from seeing them at different music festivals. I wonder if we will still like their music when we are grey and old?! ...we better still be jamming to Above Beyond when we are 90 years old, causing a ruckus at the nursing home, getting nose complaints because we refuse to wear hearing aids!!HAHAI am super excited to see you!! Hopefully we vibe just as much (or even more)than we do online. I am off to bed also. I was up at 6am this morning and I have another early morning tomorrow. Sweet dreams! Or maybe good morning?!(depending on when you read this). Xo
