- Lennie vs Curley: The Big Debate Special
- Good evenin' folks, on tonight's show I have 2 brand new guests along with their friends at home due to Covid guidelines. Please first welcome Lennie Small and Curley!
- Its good to be here Slim thank you.
- I will be speaking on some parts of the story on behalf of Lennie due to his memory.
- It's good to be here too thank you for inviting me. I brought Crooks here to speak on parts of the story that I don't know of.
- Alright gentlemen, let's get on with the debate then! First question for Curley, what caused you to start attacking Lennie when he had no bad intentions or ill harm against you?
- Well you see Slim, I tend to get 'fraid of big guys like Lennie so when he came in to the ranch and sat himself down, I felt like I had to step up to him and defend myself.
- But I did nothin' wrong, all I was doin' was sittin' there mindin' my business until Curley came in and started messin' with me.
- Yes hello, my question is actually for Slim. Slim, why did you tell Curley to lie about the fight when clearly before Curley tried to fight you about his wife?
- Alright gentlemen, let's settle down. I was there with Lennie and George when Curley came in that day and even though I shouldn't take sides, Curley was the one to initiate talking to Lennie first. Lennie never engaged with him until Curley did.
- That is true Slim but you never know, you gotta watch out for them big folks like Lennie.
- Alright folks, lets move on to the next question. George and Crooks, what were you guys exactly doing when the fight started?
- I remember Crooks being there but I'm not really sure...
- Well, I was with Lennie talking to Candy about our future when all of the sudden Curley comes in and starts messin' with Lennie!
- To be clear, I wasn't at the fight but I did come in that day to call for Slim for his help but I never saw the fight, only heard 'bout it.
- Ok then folks we have time for 1 more question that can come from our audience at home! Caller, what is your question?
- Caller, we would've all gotten canned if Curley ratted on us. Even though he tried to fight me about whether I was with his wife, I had to protect the men especially Lennie and George from that. The ranch is our only way of survivin' for the future.
- Hey! In my defense I had a reason to be angry and question you! You know I shoulda canned you when I got the chance. Just you Slim!
- George why you yellin' like that? I've never seen you like this before!
- You know Curley, I've just about had enough of you. You always go around tryin' to fight guys and start arguments while us guys at the ranch are savin' ourselves from gettin' canned 'cause of you threatening to tell the boss!
- Now this is the reason why I question everybody and can't let my wife go 'round flirtin' with the other guys on the ranch. It's 'cause of you fools that I break my back for y'all and lie.
- ENOUGH GENTLEMEN! This debate is supposed to be a professional and civilized discussion not a circus brawl!
- Folks, I think we should close this discussion before things get more heated. Gentlemen, please give your closing sentences to each other.
- Thank you Slim, Curley I think we can put this fight behind us and start out as friends. what do you think?
- I'm not so sure about that Lennie..
- Lennie, you and me will never be friends but I will agree to put this fight past us. This doesn't mean I won't be suspicious or wary of you, I'm keeping my eye on you..
