Do you guys know the 1st phase of a cell cycle?
Yes it is the Interphase
First, the cells grow in size, then replicate the DNA, and then prepare for cell division.
In this phase, chromosomes condense and coil. The nucleolus disappears, and the nuclear envelope breaks down.
So the next one has to be Telophase?
But what's afterInterphasethen?
Next is the beginning of Mitosis. This is called the Prophase .
The next phase is the Metaphase which means the middle stage.
In this phase, the spindle fiber attaches to protein and aligns the chromosomes along the equator
So what's next?
Who knows what comes after Prophase?
So the next stage is anaphase, right?
Yes, and that's when chromatids turn into chromosomes.
Yes, and those chromosomes are pulled towards opposite poles of the cell.
Yes, and that's also when the nuclearenvelope reforms, and spindle fibers break apart.
Yes, that's when a set of identical chromosomes is placed at each pole of the cell.
And an easy way to remember the 4 parts of mitosis is PMAT !
Next is called the Cytokinesis which completes the cell cycle.
Yes, in this phase, thecytoplasm divides into 2 identical daughter cells.
