- Wow! That's a beautiful necklace!
- Set around 1880 in Paris, France. A young woman named Mathilde, fantasizes about a way of life she can never afford. Her spouse, a clerk at the Ministry of Education, comes home after work while holding a letter that says, The Minister of Education and Madame Ramponneau request the pleasure of the company of Monsieur and Madame Loisel at the Ministry on the evening of Monday, January the 18th. Then she got mad because she had nothing to wear.
- Climax
- They are not rich, she told her husband that she wants to buy a new dress. Her husband agreed and bought her a new one. But still she wants more, she decided to barrow a necklace from her friend Madame Forestier.
- Falling Action
- We struggled for 10 years, but we managed to pay all our debts.
- She is the most gorgeous women in the party. All the men stared at her and even the minister noticed her. It's four o' clock in the morning when they decided to leave. However, something terrible happened, she lost the necklace. After days of finding a replacement, they bought a new one. It took them 10 years to pay their debts.
- Resolution
- Oh, my poor Mathilde! But mine was imitation. It was worth at the very most five hundred francs!
- At the end of ten years everything was paid off.
- One day Mathilde is walking to the market when she saw her friend Madame Forestier. She decided to tell the truth and what had really happened to the necklace.
- She told Mathilde that the necklace was an imitation that she bought it for only five hundred francs.
