Clover: Tonight, Old Major called a meeting of the animals at the barn. Me, Boxer and all our friends from the farm went to the barn wondering what Old Major had to say. He started by telling us that he didn't think he had much longer to live and he wanted to tell us what to do when he was gone. I was sad to think that Old Major wouldn't be with us for much longer. He said that the lives of animals were miserable and that we did loads of work for the farmer but the farmer didn't give us anything other than enough food to survive on.
Old Major even spoke to me. Old Major: And you, Clover... Clover: Yes Old Major: Where are those four foals you bore, who should been the support and pleasure of your old age. Each was sold and you will never see them again. In return for all your efforts, what have you ever had except your bare rations and a stall. I think Old Major is right, I would liketo see my foals again but I know I won't and a bit more food would be nice. Old Major finished he speech by saying we should revolt against the farmer and take over the farm and run it ourselves because then we could all be equal and well looked after. It
The next day I was in the field with Boxer and we talked about what Old Major said. We agreed that Old Major was right and that the farmer doesn't give us everything we deserve for our work. We agree that we should revolt against the farmer when there is an opportunity. I know Old Major said he may not live for much longer but I hope he stays long enough to help us revolt.
