- Promise to Abraham
- I can't believe I had a baby at this age!
- Abraham's descendants grow numerous
- Promised The Land
- God promises Abraham and his wife Sarah that he would be a father and have many descendants. God would make them a great nation, give them land. God would bless the whole world through them. Abraham and Sarah had a son called Isaac, Isaac had a son called Jacob.
- Sent Prophets To Warn People
- Turn back!
- in Egypt Abraham's great great grandchildren, Isaac and Jacob became powerful. Pharaoh becomes scared that they will defeat the Egyptians, so he made them their slaves. the Israelites begin to suffer under the terrible hard work they were given by Pharaoh. the people cried out to God and he sent Moses to help them.
- God Gave Them King David
- Eventually they got to God's promise land, but instead they turned their backs and started obeying other Gods.
- Judges Cycle
- Most Kings after David did not follow God's rules and made the people follow idols. God sent prophets to warn the people to turn back or they would be sent into exile farther from the promised land. The people didn't listen and their enemies invaded and wiped out Israel.
- The people asked for a king so God promised King David that his family would always rule God's people. One day the king would come and bring the promised blessings to the world. This King was called the Messiah.
- Israelites were disobeying God so he sent them a judge to obey him. when the judge died the Israelites went back to their bad behaviour to be like other religions. This was an on going cycle.
