- It's all my fault I'm regressing. I knew the consequences...
- Person vs. Machine/Technology
- The surgery is done and you seem to be doing great, we just aren't sure of the consequences..
- Frank and Joe bullied Charlie and beat him up. They were malicious towards him and made fun of Charlie.
- Person vs. Nature
- OW! Algernon bit me!
- Charlie blames himself for his regression and he feels sad that he isn't going to be smart anymore.
- Person vs. Society
- Charlie has gone through the surgery, the progression is slowly but surely there but Dr. Strauss is unsure of any regression or consequences that may happen to Charlie as he is the first human who's had the surgery done.
- Person vs. Person
- That's not how it works!! You don't understand how to do something YOU created?!
- Algernon bit Charlie which was an unusual and concerning thing that Algernon has done.
- Charlie was being made fun of because he is mentally disabled.
- Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss do not get along and continuously argue throughout the story
