- You have been invited to go to a dance ball at Katrina Van Tassel's house.
- Ichabod Crane is a teacher. He is also not very wealthy and wants to earn wealth. He has also heard of tales of a Headless Horseman. (Intro)
- Ichabod Crane got an invitation from Mr. Van Tassel if he could go to a dance ball with Katrina Van Tassel, the one Ichabod wants to marry. Ichabod wants to marry Katrina because Katrina is wealthy, and Ichabod wants that wealth. Many people, including Ichabod, are fighting to win the heart of Katrina. One of his rivals is Brom Bones, a strong, rude, man, and a prankster. Unlike Ichabod, Brom Bones wants to marry Katrina for love, not for wealth. (Rising Act)
- Ichabod gets to dance with Katrina in the ball. Brom Bones was angry and jealous that it was Ichabod dancing with Katrina, not him. Later, Katrina dismisses Ichabod. (Rising Act 2)
- After Katrina dismissed him, Ichabod encountered the Headless Horseman. The Headless Horseman was chasing Ichabod. The Headless Horseman threw a pumpkin at Ichabod. (Climax)
- Ichabod Crane escapes town out of fear. Ichabod leaves behind Gunpowder (the horse Ichabod was riding on), his saddle, and the pumpkin which the Headless Horseman threw at him. (Falling Act)
- Ichabod becomes a lawyer, and Brom Bones marries Katrina. (Resolution)
