- Exposition
- Inciting Incident
- Don't be alarmed. I'm no robber. I fell off a yacht. My name is Sanger Rainsford of New York City.
- *Silence intensifies*
- Rising Action
- We are introduced to Rainsford as he fell off the boat and he swims to the lighthouse which he seeks shelter. He finds a mansion and runs to it. he thinks that hunting happens here as he heard multiple shots go off.
- Climax
- Rainsford knocks on the door of the mansion and Ivan opens up, he is deaf so he can not communicate with Rainsford. Another fellow comes down who is General Zaroff. He asks him to come in and have a drink with him and to let him feel at home.
- Falling Action
- After having a drink with General Zaroff, he mentions how he hunts big game, he reveals that it is people. Rainsford is terrified and wants to leave but General Zaroff has different plans, Rainsford is forced to play the game with him, it is either death or game time. he is given food, a long hunting knife, and a new set of clothes he put on.
- Resolution
- I am still a beast at bay...
- Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed. On guard, Rainsford.
- As Rainsford leaves and tries to make the most complicated trail ever, he finds a tree with a suitable crotch to hide in. He relaxes knowing he won't be found, he was wrong, General Zaroff finds him, he knew where he was, he decides to blow a cloud of smoke to tease him. Rainsford is annoying that he did this, Right as this was done, he set off to find a better spot.
- As Rainsford runs off to a new hiding spot, and to a new one. Eventually he was getting chased by Ivan, General Zaroff, and the hounds, he was able to kill Ivan with the power of a swift stab. He runs and runs until he can't a ledge is in his way... He had no choice... But to jump...
- After escaping from General Zaroff, his dogs, and Ivan, he swims back around to the mansion and hides behind the curtains in General Zaroff's room, after General Zaroff returns, they fight, whoever loses is fed to the dogs for food and whoever wins gets to sleep on the wonderful bed.
