- Haralad Hardrada invaded the North of England from Norway because he wanted to become the king of England. he had around 360 ships.
- Battle On The Bridge
- Harold Godwinson and his army marched 180 miles north to York in just 3 days! Because he needed to attack as fast as possible instead of telling all his soldiers to meet in London he picked them up as they passed their towns when they were marching to York. This way, he saved time.

- Finally! They’re gone!
- Harald Hardrada made two crucial mistakes, he and his troops were scattered all over the place AND to make things worse he and his troops had left their armour on their ships! This was important because when Harold Godwinson did a surprise attack they were more vulnerable and weren't as protected.

- On the bridge, battle struck! The English troops had arrived and Harald Hardrada and his troops weren't. Thankfully for Harald, they had a lone viking axeman guarding on the bridge...

- The battle was long and tiring, but after lots of hard work, Harold Godwinson made a deal with Harald Hardrada’s son. He said that he will send him and his soldiers back to Norway on boats if they promised to never invade England again. And thankfully, he agreed! He send all his soldiers home but actually they barely needed any ships since so many of his troops had died! Now, it was time for a victory party!

- The celebration for their win was soon cut short because there was news that a new war would start between Harold Godwinson and The Duke of Normandy. However Harold Godwinsons army were exhausted and missing many men. What were they going to do?
